The Shanghai Bund has dozens of historical buildings, lining the Huangpu River, that once housed numerous banks and trading houses from across Europe. Across the river, modern buildings reach ever higher where, unlike the Bund, building heights are unrestricted. The tall building on the left is a radio tower. Notice the taller dark building on the right still under construction.
