These photos are of Birefringent crystals. I'm often photographing common household items like vitamin C or Tylenol. When light is passed through the substances on a microscope slide and passed through two polarizing filters, you can capture stunning and vibrant visuals that change depending on the angle of view, making them captivating subjects for abstract photography. All of these photographs ate at 5X magnification and greater.
