These beech trees in Northern Ireland are about 400 years old and are referred to as Dark Hedges. They were originally planted along an entry to a large mansion. The mansion is now a the club house at Gracehill Golf Course and the trees are a major (free) tourist attraction. Some of the trees are starting to die and get cut down which is the cause of some large spaces of light shining on the road. Still this is a very beautiful and surreal road, especially at dawn and dusk.
This stretch of old trees so intrigued me I visited in all light conditions, morning, clouded, evening and night. This particular evening I was fortunate to have a car come toward me, but luckily, the camera shutter closed just before the headlights popped over the hill.
