Hi24 Haleakala Caldera
The island of Maui is comprised of two separate volcanic eruptions. A map of Maui shows these two distinct land masses. This is the Haleakala Volcano National Park. In contrast to the black lava of the active volcano on the Big Island, this old inactive volcano has many different earth tones showing the varied mineral content of the lava.
