Cypress trees are are common part of the Tuscan landscape. The trees can live over a thousands years and are full of oils that make the trees very fragrant. They were thought to have supernatural powers so were often planted around graves, homes and churches. At other times, they are simply a great way to decorate a twisting, turning road.
