UT127 Cottonwood Swirls
Dance Hall Rock outside of Escalante Utah is a place where the early Mormon settlers actually had music and dance.  The tall cliffs with a large flat dance floor offered great acoustics.  Wondering around the massive rolling sandstone hills that surround this area, I found the lone cottonwood tree thriving in a swirling sandstone hole.  The hole provides protection from the wind and aids in gathering water in the arid climate.  Hope it survives for many years.....
